The Flames were 1-1 on the tournament weekend beating the BORP Bombers White 6-0 and losing to the BORP Shockers 3-1,

Tyler started the day off in the center position like a firecracker chasing down balls all over the court and scoring two quick goals rocking the Bombers White back on their heels. Jessica and Hunter had some good defensive plays to keep the score 2-0 at the half.

In the second half Josh took to the center position and had 2 goals and an assist which allowed Kian Steele to score the first goal of his power soccer career and it was a beauty! Both Joe B and Jess had some very close unconverted opportunities thanks to great passes from teammates Hunter and Josh but the final goal of the match was an unassisted goal by Hunter who took the ball from end to end to make the final score 6-0.

The second game against the Shockers was not as productive for the Flames. Before you could say strike force chair the Shockers were up by two but once again Tyler's aggressive play and focus on the ball allowed him to score and get one back for the Flames making it 2-1 at the half.

A unanswered goal by the Shockers in the second half led to a final score of 3-1. The Flames defense was able to neutralize Ian Kinmont keeping him scoreless in the match but others on the opposing team were able to step up and make some good plays against the Flames.

Thanks to everyone who was able to make the trek to San Jose and a special thank you to Hunter and Tyler for taking on keeper positions - spots that they do not traditionally play! Great job everyone and great to have Josh back on the pitch!!!!!

Our next practice is this Sunday May 1 from 1-4 pm at Harper Jr. High. Coach Stephen and Coach Paul will run the show - I will be at the District Championships with my ladies tennis team! We will then practice again on May 15 and go to Berkeley for the final tournament of the season on May 28.

The TENTATIVE schedule is posted on the web site. Rremember it is subject to change still

We will have our year end practice and party on June 5 or 12. I will send out a quick poll to see who is available and then pick a date.

Thank you all and FLAME ON!!!!
